Part 4: Eleanor Thought the Story Was Over—Until the Security Cameras Were Reviewed

Lily survived.

I survived.

Barely.

The doctors told Caleb another fifteen minutes without medical care could have cost us both our lives.

He didn't speak to his mother for three days.

On the fourth...

He asked Hawthorne Manor for every security recording from the wedding.

The estate manager hesitated.

Then quietly handed over the footage.

We watched together.

Every camera.

Every hallway.

Every minute.

There she was.

6:00 p.m.

Eleanor walking into the bridal suite.

Five minutes later...

She exited alone.

She looked directly into the hallway camera.

Reached into her purse.

Removed the bathroom key.

Locked the door.

Slipped the key back into her clutch.

Then calmly walked toward the chapel.

She had lied.

Deliberately.

Methodically.

Without hesitation.

The footage also showed something else.

The little flower girl speaking to Eleanor.

Pointing toward the bathroom.

Eleanor smiling.

Shaking her head.

Then guiding the child toward the ceremony.

Caleb stopped the video.

He couldn't breathe.

"My mother knew."

I nodded silently.

"She knew every second."

The following week...

He filed a police report.

Civil attorneys became involved.

The wedding guests gave sworn statements.

The paramedics documented my condition.

Doctors confirmed delayed treatment had nearly killed both mother and child.

Eleanor insisted she had only wanted to "avoid unnecessary panic."

No jury believed her.
