Chapter 1 – The Man Who Never Lost a Case

Harrison leaned back in his chair, his hands folded in front of him.

For almost a minute, he said nothing.

Khloe recognized that silence.

It was the same silence that terrified CEOs before depositions and frightened billionaires before trial.

Finally, he looked up.

"Richard believes he's preparing for a divorce."

"He isn't."

Khloe frowned.

"What do you mean?"

"He's preparing for a criminal investigation."

He turned his monitor toward her.

Three folders appeared on the screen.

Financial Fraud.

Asset Concealment.

Corporate Misappropriation.

"You didn't marry a careful man," Harrison said.

"You married a man who became arrogant."

"He assumed you'd be too heartbroken to notice the details."

He smiled for the first time that evening.

"He forgot your profession."

"You read blueprints."

"You know how hidden structures work."

Within hours, Harrison assembled an elite team of forensic accountants, cyber investigators, and family-law specialists.

Every offshore transfer was traced.

Every shell corporation was identified.

Every hidden property was linked back to Richard through digital records.

Then Harrison filed something Richard never expected.

Not divorce papers.

A court order freezing every major financial transaction connected to Harrington Commercial Group until ownership could be verified.

The order was signed before sunrise.

When Richard's Chief Financial Officer called to ask why the company's accounts had suddenly been restricted, Richard laughed.

"My wife is bluffing."

The CFO answered quietly.

"No, sir."

"Her brother signed the motion."

The laughter stopped.

For the first time, Richard realized this was no ordinary divorce.

He had declared war on the wrong family.
