Chapter 20 - The Sanctuary on the CliffThree years later.

The afternoon sun cast a warm, golden blanket across the estate lawn. The olive trees rustled gently in the summer breeze, and the sea below was a calm, glittering mirror of turquoise and deep sapphire.
On the patio outside Room 104, a small wooden rocking horse sat beside the lemon tree.
Beatrice Costa had passed away peacefully two winters prior, slipping away quietly in her sleep while holding Tessa's hand, surrounded by warmth, dignity, and love. Room 104 had not been locked away or turned into a somber shrine; instead, it had been transformed into a bright, sunlit children's playroom filled with books, wooden toys, and soft rugs.
A little two-year-old girl with dark curls and bright, curious eyes—named Elena Beatrice Costa—was currently chasing a golden butterfly across the grass, giggling with pure delight.
Tessa stood by the stone balustrade, wearing a soft yellow sundress, her hand resting over her gently rounded bump where their second child grew.
Arms wrapped around her waist from behind. Damian pulled her back against his broad chest, resting his chin on her shoulder, his hands coming down to rest gently over hers on her stomach.
"Elena is trying to feed the butterfly a leaf again," Damian murmured softly, a deep, contented warmth in his voice.
Tessa leaned back into his solid embrace, smiling as she watched their daughter run toward Paul Ferrell, who was kneeling on the grass with a goofy smile, pretending to be caught by the little girl.
"She has your stubbornness," Tessa teased gently, turning her head to kiss his jawline.
"And her mother's heart," Damian replied softly, turning her in his arms so he could look down into her face.
The dark days of debt, hidden monitors, and violence were far behind them. The Costa estate was no longer a cold bunker built on blood and paranoia; it had become a true home—anchored by love, protected by strength, and filled with the bright, sweet laughter of a new generation.
Damian leaned down, pressing a soft, warm kiss to his wife's lips beneath the Italian sun.
"Thank you, my queen," he whispered into the quiet air.

"For what?" Tessa smiled, tracing the line of his cheek.
"For coming into Room 104," Damian breathed softly, holding her close as their daughter’s laughter echoed across the cliffside sanctuary.
