Chapter 8 - The Breach at Warehouse FourAt 11:45 p.m. that night, the rain stopped, leaving the coast drenched in a cold, heavy sea fog.

Inside the underground bunker, Damian sat before the main array of monitors alongside Paul Ferrell. The screens displayed real-time night-vision feeds from Warehouse Four—a massive logistics depot located three miles down the coast at the commercial docks.

"They're moving," Paul whispered, pointing to three dark, thermal signatures creeping around the perimeter wall of the warehouse. "Moretti’s vanguard team. They cut the primary fence line two minutes ago."

Damian’s face remained entirely expressionless beneath the blue glow of the monitors. "How many?"

"Eight men inside the yard. Four in a chase vehicle parked on the access road."

Damian reached for the desk microphone, flicking the toggle switch to the encrypted tactical frequency. "Alpha team. Seal the gates. Nobody leaves."

Across the screens, the trap sprung with terrifying, silent efficiency.

Four heavy steel security shutters slammed down over the warehouse exits, trapping Moretti’s men inside the floodlit courtyard. Within seconds, a dozen of Damian's heavily armed tactical guards poured from the shadows, weapons raised, blinding halogen spotlights illuminating the intruders.

There was no prolonged firefight. Surprised, outmaneuvered, and hopelessly surrounded, Moretti’s men dropped their weapons onto the concrete within thirty seconds.

Paul let out a low whistle. "Clean. Gianna Moretti just lost her entire strike team without us firing a single shot."

"Bring their captain to the holding cells beneath the south gatehouse," Damian ordered, turning off the microphone. "I want Gianna to know that if she steps one foot onto my docks again, I will personally send her captains back to her in pieces."

"Understood," Paul nodded. He reached for his jacket, then paused, checking an automated alert popping up on his tablet. His brow furrowed instantly.

Damian caught the movement. "What is it?"

"It's the east lawn perimeter sensor," Paul said, his voice instantly dropping two octaves into extreme alert. "Disturbance near the guest cottage."

Damian stood up so fast his heavy leather chair slammed violently against the concrete wall behind him.
