Chapter 11: The Whistleblower

Over the next forty-eight hours, Julian transformed his private apartment into an operations hub. Working alongside a small, uncorrupted legal team recommended by Maeve, he organized the archive documents, the toxicological reports, and the duplicate ledgers into an irrefutable legal brief.
On Thursday morning, twenty-four hours before the Apex merger was set to close, Julian walked into the Federal Building in downtown Manhattan.
He didn't bring publicists or bodyguards. He carried a single leather briefcase containing thirty years of corporate corruption.
He sat down in a windowless room across from the Deputy United States Attorney and the head of the SEC Enforcement Division.
"Mr. Vane," the Deputy Attorney said cautiously. "Your attorneys indicated you wish to make a voluntary disclosure regarding Vane Holdings."

Julian opened the briefcase and laid the files on the table.
