Chapter 4 - The Eviction ExecutionTrent’s face went through three distinct shades of pale before settling on a flushed, furious red.

"What is the meaning of this?!" Trent demanded, stepping out onto the porch, his voice cracking with outrage. "Harper, what are you doing here?! I told you to stay away from my house!"

Arthur Pendelton stepped forward, pulling a gold-embossed court order from his leather briefcase.

"Mr. Lawson," Arthur said, his voice echoing with authoritative weight. "My name is Arthur Pendelton, lead counsel for Lawson Enterprise Solutions LLC. I am serving you with an emergency Order of Immediate Possession granted by the Maricopa County Superior Court."

Trent blinked, his eyes darting frantically between Arthur and the four security guards. "What are you talking about?! This is my house! I live here!"

"Correction," Arthur stated smoothly, unfolding the document and holding it six inches from Trent’s face. "The sole owner of this real estate property—Parcel ID #402-18-091—is Lawson Enterprise Solutions LLC. You are not an owner. You are not a tenant. You hold no lease agreement, no equitable title, and no legal right of occupancy."

"That's a lie!" Trent yelled, his voice rising in panic. "Harper and I are married! This is marital property!"

"Under Arizona Revised Statutes Section 25-211," Arthur countered without missing a beat, "property acquired and maintained entirely by a pre-existing corporate entity using sole-source commercial capital is exempt from marital distribution unless explicit personal equity was contributed. You contributed zero dollars, Mr. Lawson. In fact, you contributed less than zero."

At that moment, Brooke walked out onto the porch wearing my silk robe, holding a glass of my $300 Dom Pérignon.

"Trent, babe, what’s going on?" Brooke asked, her voice high and panicked as she saw the armed security guards. "Who are these people?"

"Get inside, Brooke!" Trent hissed, turning to Arthur. "You can't just kick us out! We have a baby on the way! You have to give us thirty days' notice!"

"You were granted zero days' notice under the emergency fraud injunction," Arthur replied, stepping aside and gesturing to the security team. "Officers, execute the order."

The lead security officer stepped forward, placing a heavy hand against Trent’s chest and pushing him firmly back over the threshold.

"Sir, you have fifteen minutes to gather your personal clothing," the officer barked in a booming voice. "Any corporate property, artwork, wine, or jewelry purchased via Lawson Enterprise Solutions accounts must remain on the premises. If you resist, you will be arrested for felony criminal trespass."

"You can't do this!" Trent screamed, looking past the guards at me. "Harper! Tell them to stop! You can't leave a pregnant woman on the street!"

I slowly pushed myself off the hood of my sedan and walked up the stone steps. I stood two feet away from him, looking down at his trembling, pathetic frame.

"You told me on Monday that I had to move out because you wouldn't let your child grow up under the same roof as a bitter woman," I said, my voice completely cold. "I’m just honoring your wishes, Trent. You wanted the house. Too bad you didn't check who owned it."

Behind us, a loud metallic screech echoed through the driveway.

Trent whipped his head around. The tow truck driver had hooked a heavy steel cable onto the front axle of the $120,000 Mercedes AMG SUV parked under the porte-cochère.

"Hey! Stop! That’s my car!" Trent yelled, taking a step toward the driveway.

"That vehicle is titled to Lawson Enterprise Solutions LLC," Arthur noted calmly, checking a clipboard. "And since the corporate vehicle policy explicitly restricts non-employee operation, it is being repossessed immediately."

Brooke began to cry, her dramatic sobs echoing off the stucco walls. "Trent! Do something! They’re taking the car! Where are we supposed to go?!"

"My parents' house!" Trent stammered, his eyes wide with desperate panic. "We’ll go to my parents' house! I’ll call my mom right now!"

He yanked his phone from his pocket and dialed Gloria. He pressed the speakerphone button in his panic.

The call connected instantly. Gloria’s hysterical voice blasted through the speaker for everyone on the porch to hear:

"Trent! Oh my god, Trent! The bank just locked us out of our online accounts! All the rent money from the Mesa properties is frozen! And there are two process servers at my front door with a lawsuit!"
