Chapter 12 - The Phoenix SyndicateDeep in the offshore financial hubs of Panama, a dark network was quietly bleeding money.

Before his arrest, Alistair Vance hadn't merely run a tech firm; he had been the primary laundering conduit for the Aegis Syndicate—a ruthless international cartel specializing in illegal tech smuggling and shadow finance. When the Pembroke family erased Vance Innovations overnight, the syndicate lost over four hundred million dollars in clean assets.
For two years, the syndicate’s leader, a shadowy figure known as Victor Vance—Alistair’s estranged, older half-brother—had been piecing together what had happened.
Victor didn't care about Alistair sitting in a federal prison. But he cared deeply about the four hundred million dollars that had vanished into the Pembroke corporate vaults.
Inside an encrypted server farm in Geneva, Lucas detected a sudden, high-level intrusion attempt against the Pembroke Trust's offshore holdings.
"They're not trying to steal money," Lucas reported during a midnight emergency family council in the manor library. "They're trying to trace personal physical locations. Specifically, Victoria's travel routes for the foundation."
Ethan's face hardened into granite. "Deploy additional security detailing to her convoy immediately."
"No," a quiet, firm voice cut through the room.
Everyone turned. Victoria stood up from the mahogany table, setting her tablet down with cold precision.

"We are not playing defense this time," Victoria said, her dark eyes locking onto her five brothers. "For nine years, I ran. Two years ago, you stood in front of me and handled Alistair. But this syndicate is coming after my foundation and my child’s future. It’s time I handle this."
Julian leaned back in his leather chair, a slow, approving smile curling his lips. "She's right, Ethan. It's time Victoria took her seat at the table."
