Chapter 8 - The Fall of Vance InnovationsBy eight o'clock the following morning, the financial world woke up to a catastrophic slaughter on Wall Street.

News anchors across every major network were broadcasting live from outside the headquarters of Vance Innovations in downtown Phoenix.
"...In an unprecedented financial collapse, shares of Vance Innovations have plunged ninety-eight percent in pre-market trading following news of a massive federal raid overnight..."
Inside a private conference suite on the top floor of the Pembroke Tower in downtown Atlanta, Ethan sat at the head of a long mahogany table, sipping black coffee. Spread across the screens before him were the real-time market telemetry boards.
Lucas sat beside him, tapping away on a laptop keyboard. "The SEC just formally suspended trading on Vance stock. The company is officially insolvent. All intellectual property patents have been transferred to the Pembroke Family Foundation as restitution for Paisley's medical and psychological damages."
"What about Genevieve?" Ethan asked quietly.
Julian, who was looking out the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Atlanta skyline, spoke up without turning around. "Her father's boutique logistics firm in Chicago lost its commercial transport licenses three hours ago due to 'regulatory non-compliance.' Her personal assets have been frozen under civil forfeiture laws. She is currently sitting in a holding cell in Maricopa County, facing felony child abuse conspiracy charges."
"Make sure she gets the maximum sentence," Gabriel added from across the room, reviewing legal briefs. "The prosecutor on the case has already been provided with the complete audio and video recordings Lucas pulled from the estate's hidden security server. The video clearly shows her cutting her own dress with Victoria's scissors while Alistair watched."
I sat in a comfortable plush armchair in the corner of the suite, holding a warm mug of tea. For nine years, I had believed that power was something dark and corrupt—something to be avoided at all costs to protect my daughter.
But as I watched my brothers work seamlessly, using their immense wealth, legal influence, and technical dominance to erase the people who had terrorized my child, a profound sense of relief washed over me.
The door to the private suite opened softly.
Paisley walked in, wearing a soft cream-colored sweater and brand-new jeans. She was holding a large plush teddy bear that Marcus had personally ordered from a high-end toy store earlier that morning.
"Mommy?" Paisley asked softly.
Ethan immediately set his coffee cup down. The billionaire CEO stood up, walked over to his desk, and pulled out a small velvet box.
"Come here, Paisley," Ethan said softly, kneeling down to her level.

Paisley walked over, her small hand holding onto mine as she looked at her uncle. Ethan opened the box, revealing a delicate gold medallion stamped with the ancient Pembroke crest—a lion holding a silver sword.
"This belonged to your mother when she was a little girl," Ethan said gently, fastening the chain around her neck. "It means you are a Pembroke. And no matter where you go in this world, five men will burn down anything that tries to hurt you."
