Chapter 15 - The Unbreakable FoundationBy the end of her second year as Vice President, Arianne had completely transformed Apex Holdings.

She opened three new automated fulfillment centers, expanded our shipping fleet by forty percent, and launched The Arianne Thorne Foundation for Domestic Safety—a private initiative fully funded by Apex profits that provided legal aid, emergency housing, and vocational training for women fleeing abusive homes.
At the foundation’s inaugural gala held in Boston, over five hundred civic leaders, legal scholars, and corporate heads gathered to celebrate her work.
When Arianne stepped up to the podium, the room fell into a quiet, respectful hush.
"Two years ago, I was trapped in a dark room, convinced that my life was over," Arianne told the crowd, her voice ringing out with crystal-clear strength and poise. "I believed the lies of people who told me I was nothing without them. But I survived because someone loved me enough to fight for me when I couldn't fight for myself."
She looked directly at me, sitting at the head table beside Gideon.
"My father taught me that true wealth isn't measured by gold, fancy mansions, or expensive titles," Arianne said, her eyes shining with loving gratitude. "True wealth is the strength to stand up against injustice, the courage to rebuild from ash, and the love that keeps your family safe."
The entire audience stood up, filling the grand ballroom with a standing ovation that lasted for minutes.

Sitting beside me, little Gideon clapped his hands as hard as he could, yelling, "That's my mom! That's my mom!"
I looked at my daughter standing under the bright stage lights—strong, independent, and completely free—and felt a warmth in my chest that no fortune on earth could ever buy.
