Adam and I both supported stronger protections.
Changes:
No foundation chair automatically serves as family liaison.
No temporary caregiver gains governance authority.
Any parental incapacity claim requires independent medical evaluation.
No family-funded physician serves as sole evaluator.
Related-party foundation transactions require enhanced disclosure.
Leo’s voting shares remain independently managed during minority.
Neither Adam nor I could simply vote thirty-five percent because we were parents.
Good.
I did not want the power Evelyn assumed I was trying to steal.
I wanted Leo’s assets protected from us too.
Adam struggled with that.
“My grandfather intended family guidance.”
“Your mother called herself family guidance.”
He nodded.
Independent governance became personal.

Medical care.
Education later.
Not our mortgage.
Not our vacations.
Not foundation galas.
Transparent accounting.
I received statements.
Read them.
Every page.
