Evelyn was convicted on major counts:
Unlawful restraint.
Assault.
Child endangerment.
Evidence tampering.
Obstruction.
Fraud conspiracy.
Several wire-fraud-related counts.
False foundation reporting.
She was acquitted on one medication-administration count because the jury could not determine beyond reasonable doubt whether she or Brooke physically prepared a particular dose.
Brooke had admitted giving it.
Evelyn’s role remained proven through conspiracy and child-endangerment counts.
She was acquitted on two vendor-specific fraud counts where evidence showed substantial legitimate services.
Mixed verdict.
Accurate.
She was not convicted of attempted murder.
Not of causing Leo’s infection.
Not of every dollar prosecutors questioned.
The central conduct stood.
Evelyn looked at Adam after the verdict.
Not me.
Her son.
He did not look away.
No triumph.
I saw grief.
The person who abused us was still his mother.
People online demanded he disown her immediately.
Real relationships do not obey comments.
