Chapter 19 - The Passing of the BlueprintA year after the wedding, Weber Engineering celebrated its thirty-fifth anniversary.

During the annual corporate gala held in the grand ballroom of the city center, six hundred employees, civic leaders, and industry partners gathered to honor the firm’s history.
Frances stood at the podium in a dark navy velvet gown, looking out at the crowd.
"Thirty-five years ago," Frances began, her voice echoing clearly through the grand hall, "Weber Engineering was born in a rented garage with two drafting tables, a second-hand computer, and a dream shared by my late husband, Robert, and myself."
She paused, looking toward the head table where Joselyn sat beside David, holding their newborn three-month-old daughter, Clara Robert Vance.
"We believed that an engineering firm shouldn't just build structures that withstand physical loads," Frances continued, her eyes shining with warmth. "We believed it should build a foundation of absolute integrity—a foundation strong enough to withstand every storm life can throw at it."
Frances raised her glass high.
"Tonight, I am officially announcing my retirement as Chief Executive Officer of Weber Engineering," Frances declared as a quiet gasp, followed by warm murmurs, swept through the room. "And it is my greatest honor to introduce the new CEO and Managing Partner of our firm... Joselyn Weber."
The entire ballroom stood up as one, erupting into a thunderous, standing ovation that lasted for three full minutes.
Joselyn handed baby Clara to David and walked up the steps to the stage, tears of profound joy sparkling in her eyes. She pulled her mother into a warm, long embrace as the crowd cheered.
Frances handed her daughter the master golden key to the corporate office—the same key Robert had cut thirty-five years ago.

"The blueprint is yours now, CEO," Frances whispered with a proud smile.
"I'll build it strong, Mom," Joselyn promised.
