Chapter 11 - The Storm and the ArrivalAt thirty-four weeks pregnant, Clara’s world revolved around peaceful ocean breezes, steady medical checkups, and the gentle rhythm of Harbor House. Dr. Marsh had placed her on strict bed rest, marveling at how remarkably strong all three babies had grown despite the immense toll a triplet pregnancy took on a mother's body.

On a dark evening in late April, a ferocious spring gale battered the Long Island Sound. Rain lashed against the windowpanes of Room Nine, and the wind howled around the blue shutters.
Clara awoke at 2:00 AM to a sharp, tight pain radiating across her lower back.
She sat up slowly, breathing through the contraction. When a second, far more intense wave hit three minutes later, she knew the time had come.
"Grace..." Clara called out, her voice barely carrying over the roar of the storm.
Grace Bell was in the room within seconds, taking one look at Clara's pale, determined face and grabbing the pre-packed hospital bags. "Graham’s already pulling the car around! The storm knocked out power downtown, but St. Jude’s Medical Center is on generators!"
By the time they reached the regional hospital, Dr. Helen Marsh and her specialized surgical team were waiting in the brightly lit delivery bay.
"You've done an incredible job carrying them this far, Clara," Dr. Marsh said, squeezing her hand as they prepared her for an emergency C-section. "Now let us bring your family into the world."
At 4:12 AM, the quiet operating room was pierced by a sharp, clear cry.
"Baby A is a boy," the pediatrician announced, smiling over his mask. "Healthy and vocal!"
Two minutes later, a second, sweeter cry echoed through the room. "Baby B is a girl!"

And at 4:16 AM, the smallest of the three let out a fierce, surprising roar that brought tears to Clara’s eyes. "Baby C is another boy!"
Clara wept softly as the nurses bundled the three infants into warm blankets and placed them near her face. Two boys and a girl—Julian, Grace, and Leo. Three tiny miracles born into warmth, safety, and an abundance of love.
