Chapter 14 - The Return to Seat 1AOne year after the flight that had changed her life, thirteen-year-old Eliza Monroe walked down the carpeted jet bridge at Logan International Airport in Boston for Flight 217 to Geneva.

She wore her familiar navy cardigan, dark trousers, and carried her hard-shell violin case across her shoulder.

She reached the boarding door.

Standing behind the desk checking tickets was Lead Gate Agent Sarah Jenkins, alongside Station Director David Ross.

Eliza stepped forward and handed her paper boarding pass to Sarah.

Sarah scanned the barcode, then looked up at the name on the screen:

MONROE / ELIZA MS

SEAT: 1A

Sarah’s face lit up with instant, respectful recognition. "Welcome back, Miss Monroe. It is an absolute privilege to have you on board with us today."

"Thank you, Sarah," Eliza smiled softly.

Eliza walked down the wide aisle of the Boeing 777 into First Class.

Standing in the forward galley, crisp in his uniform, was Purser Julian. His smile was radiant as he stepped forward to greet her.

"Miss Monroe! Welcome back to Flight 217."

"Hello, Julian," Eliza smiled warmly. "Is 1A ready?"

"Seat 1A has been waiting for you, Miss Monroe," Julian replied, gesturing gracefully toward the window.
