Chapter 15 - The Final GambleThe next morning, news of Julian Vance’s arrest sent shockwaves through Seattle's high society.

Inside the King County Correctional Facility, Julian sat in a private consultation room, his hair disheveled, his eyes bloodshot. Across the table sat his chief legal partner, Arthur Pendelton.
"The evidence is overwhelming, Julian," Pendelton said, shaking his head. "Gideon flipped on you two hours ago to avoid a life sentence. He gave the prosecutor the original audio recordings of you hiring him four years ago to take Leo."
Julian slammed his fist against the metal table. "There has to be a way out, Arthur! What about Eleanor? If she refuses to testify, the prosecution's family timeline falls apart!"
"Eleanor filed for emergency divorce and full sole custody an hour ago," Pendelton replied coldly. "She’s freezing all joint marital assets and turning over your personal corporate ledgers to the federal tax division."
Julian leaned back in his chair, a desperate, dangerous glint flashing in his eyes.
"She thinks she’s won," Julian whispered, his face twisting into a sinister snarl. "She thinks she can take my money, my home, and my children."

He leaned across the table, grabbing his lawyer's sleeve.
"I have a secondary offshore trust in the Cayman Islands—five million dollars that isn't under the court freeze yet," Julian whispered frantically. "I need you to contact my associate, Marcus. Tell him to execute Protocol B. If I'm going down for this, Eleanor isn't going to live to enjoy my empire."
