I walked down the stone path of the Moretti Sanctuary, watching young mothers walking with their children through the sunlit courtyard, their laughter echoing through the fresh morning air.
Near the central fountain stood a small stone monument engraved with a simple sentence:
You are never alone.
I paused beside the fountain, dipping my fingers into the cool, clear water.
A young woman—a recent resident who had arrived three weeks ago fleeing a dangerous situation—walked up beside me, holding a warm cup of tea.
"Good morning, Ms. Moretti," she said softly, offering me a shy, grateful smile.
"Good morning, Sarah," I replied gently. "How are you feeling today?"
"For the first time in ten years..." Sarah said, her eyes shining with fresh hope as she looked around the peaceful courtyard, "...I feel like I can finally breathe."
I smiled, placing a warm, gentle hand on her shoulder.
"Then breathe, Sarah," I told her softly, looking up at the bright, beautiful sky above us. "The storm is over. Your life starts now."
