Chapter 18 - The Sanctuary at Greenwich
Back in Connecticut, the former Vance estate in Greenwich had undergone a total metamorphosis.
Saraphina had refused to sell the house or live in it. Instead, through the newly established Montgomery Foundation, she completely renovated the twenty-thousand-square-foot property, transforming it into the Astraea Sanctuary for Women Executives and Entrepreneurs.
Where Caldwell had once hosted arrogant networking parties and hidden his mistress, the estate now served as a world-class incubator, residency program, and safe haven for women breaking into high-finance and corporate leadership.
During the grand re-opening ceremony, Saraphina walked through the grand foyer where Caldwell had once dropped to his knees to beg.
The heavy, dark wood and ostentatious gold trim were gone, replaced by light-filled marble, open glass archways, and modern art commissioned from young female artists around the globe.
Arthur Pendelton walked beside her, watching a cohort of young tech founders presenting their green-energy prototypes in the courtyard.
