Chapter 7 - Repossession"Saraphina! Wait!" Caldwell panicked, lunging past Arthur toward me, but two heavy-set corporate security guards grabbed him by his upper arms, pinning him in place.

"Get your hands off me! I'm the CEO!" Caldwell roared, struggling against their grip. "Saraphina, look at me! We're married! You can't do this to your husband!"

"Our prenuptial agreement contained a strict morality and reputation clause, Caldwell," I replied, standing inches away from him. "You threw your wedding ring at my feet in front of two hundred witnesses and declared our marriage over. My legal team filed for emergency marital asset lock and dissolution twenty minutes ago."

At that exact moment, the heavy double doors opened again. A man in a dark trench coat walked in, holding a leather clipboard.

"Mr. Caldwell Vance?" the man asked loudly.

Caldwell panted, staring at him. "Who the hell are you?!"

"I'm a senior marshal for the Southern District of New York," the man said smoothly, pulling three sets of vehicle keys and official impound papers from his coat. "We have orders to seize three vehicles registered to Vance Global currently parked in the valet structure downstairs: a 2025 Mercedes-Maybach, a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, and a vintage Porsche 911."

Evelyn let out a choked shriek. "That Cullinan is mine! Caldwell gave it to me for my birthday!"

"It was leased under corporate logistics accounts, Mrs. Vance," Arthur interjected calmly. "Which you were never authorized to use. The marshal is impounding them tonight."

Sloan took another step back, trying to vanish into the crowd near the bar, but Thaddius raised his voice, his tone cutting through the ballroom.

"Miss Sterling, I suggest you stay right where you are," Thaddius said.

Sloan froze, her hand hovering over her designer clutch. "I... I have nothing to do with their family matters. I was just an independent consultant—"

"You were an independent consultant who redirected $1.8 million in Vance Global marketing contracts to 'Sterling Media LLC'—a shell company registered in Delaware under your sister's name," Thaddius said, holding up his tablet. "Forensic accounting flagged the transfers two hours ago. Federal investigators are currently at your Manhattan apartment executing a search warrant for corporate grand larceny."

Sloan's face turned completely white. Her clutch slipped from her fingers, hitting the floor with a soft thud.
