Worked.
Paid restitution.

Then Sarah encountered her accidentally at train station.
Both froze.
Victoria looked older.
No designer clothes.

“Sarah.”
“Victoria.”
Silence.
Victoria stepped back.
“I won’t bother you.”

“Wait.”

“Are you okay?”
“Yes.”
“That’s all.”
Victoria nodded.
Then:
“Leo?”
“Fine.”
Victoria’s face softened and pained.
“Good.”
No request.
No apology speech.
Then she said:
“I still think about the green light.”
Sarah understood.
The monitor.
“I used to hate it.”
“Now?”
“It was the first thing I couldn’t control.”
Sarah replied:
“Good.”
Victoria almost smiled.
They parted.
Sarah felt no dramatic closure.
Just distance without fear.
Later she told Ethan.
He asked:
“How do you feel?”
“Fine.”
That was closure enough.
Leo never met Victoria again in childhood.
When adult, he could choose.
