Chapter 17 - The Lawsuit
Two days later, the final nail in the coffin was delivered.
Julian was sitting in a public park, eating a stale sandwich, when a process server in a grey suit walked up and dropped a massive stack of legal documents onto his lap.
"Julian Vance? You've been served."
Julian looked down at the papers. It was a civil lawsuit from the Sterling Global Trust. We were suing him for twenty-five million dollars—the exact amount he had embezzled over the past five years. Combined with the divorce papers, the legal assault was designed to ensure he would never breathe a sigh of financial relief for the rest of his natural life.

Refuse, and my father's lawyers will ensure you spend the next twenty years in federal prison.
Julian dropped his head into his hands and began to weep. The king had been reduced to a beggar.
