Chapter 8 - The Walk of Shame

"You can't do this!" Julian screamed, panic finally shattering his arrogant facade. "My clothes! My watches! My passport is in that safe!"
"Company property," Hayes lied effortlessly, though the legal teams were already freezing Julian’s assets. "Now, are you going to walk, or are they going to drag you?"
The head of security, a towering man named Jax who had silently hated Julian for years, cracked his knuckles. "I'm hoping for the second option, boss."
Julian looked at the giant men, then at Chloe, who was trembling. Defeated, humiliated, and utterly broken, Julian stepped out into the hallway in his bare feet and trousers. Chloe followed, still wearing my custom cashmere coat over a thin silk slip.

The guards didn't let them take the private elevator. They marched them toward the service elevator, the one used by the janitorial staff.
"This is illegal!" Julian shouted as the metal doors closed on him, plunging them into the harsh, flickering fluorescent lights of the service shaft. But his threats were hollow, bouncing off the steel walls. The king had been deposed.
