Chapter 15 - The LegacyOne year later.

Spring had returned to Boston, bringing blooming magnolia trees and warm sunshine to the streets of Beacon Hill.

The Ashford estate was alive with activity. The iron gates at the entrance were open, welcoming dozens of local community leaders, historic preservationists, and legal aid representatives for the official launch of the Lawson-Vance Restitution Fund—a fifty-million-dollar charitable foundation established by Harper to support victims of domestic abuse and corporate corruption.

In the grand garden behind the estate, children played on the lush green lawn while classical music drifted through the air.

Noah, now nine years old, ran across the grass with his massive German Shepherd, Duke, chasing a football and laughing loudly with Marcus, who was attempting—and failing—to keep up with the energetic boy.

Standing on the high marble terrace overlooking the celebration, Harper stood dressed in an elegant lavender silk dress. Her hair was styled up, her diamond wedding ring catching the afternoon sun.

A pair of strong arms wrapped around her waist from behind, pulling her back against a broad, warm chest.

"You should be sitting down," Gabriel murmured into her ear, his chin resting gently on her shoulder.

Harper smiled, leaning back against him, placing her hands over his. "I'm perfectly fine, Gabriel. Stop hovering."

"I don't hover," Gabriel said defensively, though his voice was filled with deep affection. "I observe."

Harper turned in his arms, wrapping her hands around his neck. "The doctor said I have three more weeks."

Gabriel gently lowered his right hand, placing his broad palm over the round, prominent curve of Harper’s pregnant stomach. A soft, miraculous kick fluttered beneath his palm, making his eyes soften completely.

"She's active today," Gabriel whispered, a breathtaking smile lighting up his face as he looked down at her belly.

"She knows her father is worry-ing too much," Harper teased gently.

Gabriel looked up, meeting her eyes with a love so deep and boundless that it brought a lump to her throat.

He leaned down, pressing his lips softly against hers, holding her close in the warm afternoon breeze.

When they broke the kiss, they looked out together over the terrace—watching Noah playing on the lawn, Marcus guarding their family with quiet pride, and the peaceful, thriving city of Boston stretching out before them.
