Judge Harrison sentenced Richard Vance to 18 years in federal prison and Victoria Sterling to 12 years, ordering full financial restitution of all stolen funds through the seizure of the Sterling Law Group’s corporate assets.
As security led the sobbing Victoria and stunned Richard away, Elena stepped out onto the courthouse steps to address the massive crowd of reporters.
"Today justice was served," Elena announced, flanked by Thomas Wright. "This verdict proves that wealth and social status will never shield anyone from accountability in this city."
That evening, a quiet celebration was held at Elena's private penthouse overlooking Puget Sound. Thomas Wright poured two glasses of sparkling apple cider, handing one to Elena as she looked out over the sparkling city lights.
"We did it, Miss Vance," Thomas said, his face glowing with pride. "The estate is secure, the foundation is funded, and Richard and Victoria will never harm anyone again."
"Thank you, Thomas," Elena said gently, sipping her drink. "I couldn't have done any of this without your loyalty over these past five years."
Thomas smiled warmly, placing his glass on the marble side table. "I promised your grandfather on his deathbed that I would always protect the Vance line. In fact... speaking of your grandfather's legacy, I have finalized the paperwork to transfer the remaining offshore reserve accounts into your primary trust."
Thomas pulled a tablet from his briefcase and handed it to her. "You just need to enter your master biometrics to complete the consolidation."
Elena took the tablet. But as her fingers hovered over the screen, something caught her eye in the legal footnote of the transfer contract.
