Chapter 4 - The Vanished HeirVictoria felt the floor beneath her white heels begin to sway.

"No... that's impossible," Victoria stammered, looking back and forth between Thomas and the quiet woman in the teal uniform. "Richard told me the Vance family died out five years ago! He said the estate was bought by an anonymous offshore trust!"

"The trust belongs entirely to Miss Vance," Thomas spat coldly. "And the reason she wears this uniform is because she spends her personal time overseeing the free rehabilitation clinic she built in the city."

Elena Vance sat quietly in her chair, adjusting the sleeve of her teal uniform. Her grandfather had founded Vance Global, a trillion-dollar logistics and real estate empire. When her family passed away in a tragic accident years ago, Elena had retreated from the public eye, living humbly, running charitable clinics, and allowing Richard Vance—her distant cousin—to manage the commercial operations under strict oversight.

She had come to the mansion unannounced today in her work uniform, intending to privately inspect the final restoration of her childhood home before the public opening.

Instead, she had been shoved onto the cold marble floor by the woman Richard intended to marry.

"Is this how you treat people when you think no one is watching, Victoria?" Elena asked softly, her raspy voice cutting through the tense air.

Victoria’s arrogance shattered into complete panic. She knew that if Richard lost the Vance contract, his company would go bankrupt overnight—and her lavish lifestyle would vanish with it.

"Miss Vance... I... I didn't know!" Victoria gasped, taking a desperate step forward, her hands raised in apology. "It was a mistake! I thought you were a trespasser—I was only trying to protect the property!"

"You didn't protect the property," Elena said, her eyes cold as ice. "You revealed your true character."

Just then, the rear doors of the lobby opened, and a man in a navy suit rushed in holding a bottle of expensive champagne.

It was Richard Vance.
