Chapter 10 - The Unforgiving Threat
Three weeks passed in a paradise of growing affection. Alexander, Elena, and Noah spent their weekends together, dining in the garden, playing on the lawn, and slowly becoming a real family.
One afternoon, while Alexander was in New York finalizing a merger, Elena walked down the estate’s outer driveway with Noah to collect a package from the security gate.
Suddenly, a tinted SUV pulled up beside the iron gates.
The rear window lowered, revealing Victoria Vance. Her face was pale, drawn, and twisted with bitter resentment.
"Enjoying your new life, servant?" Victoria sneered, leaning her head out the window.
Elena immediately stepped in front of Noah, pulling him behind her back. "Victoria. You aren't allowed near this property."
"I don't care about your little court order," Victoria spat, her eyes flashing dangerously. "You think you've won? You think a maid can just step into a billionaire's life and play mother forever?"
"I am here because Noah chose me, and because Alexander trusts me," Elena replied firmly. "Leave before security arrives."
Victoria let out a harsh, bitter laugh. "My father's company might be ruined, but the Vance family still has friends, Elena. People who know that you dropped out of nursing school under suspicious circumstances three years ago. People who know that the night Alexander's wife died... you were the last nurse on duty in her room."
Elena froze, her blood turning to ice. "What are you talking about?"

"A police report will be filed tomorrow morning," Victoria smiled evilly as the SUV's engine revved. "Let's see if Alexander Sterling still wants a murderer raising his son."
The SUV sped away into the afternoon fog, leaving Elena standing near the gates, her heart pounding with terror as she held a confused Noah close to her chest.
