Chapter 7 - The Boardroom Confrontation

Three days later, Alexander stood at the head of a long mahogany table in the Sterling Tower boardroom. Facing him were twenty executive board members and Richard Vance, Victoria’s father.

"This is an outrage, Alexander!" Richard slammed his hand onto the table, his face flushed with anger. "You humiliated my daughter in front of global elite, canceled our trade agreement, and banished your own mother to appease a former maid!"

Whispers broke out among the board members. Several elderly executives nodded in agreement with Richard.

"Your personal life is bleeding into our corporate reputation," Richard continued, leaning forward. "The Vance family holds twenty percent of your debt bonds. If you do not reinstate the alliance and remove that girl from your house, we will recall those loans by Friday."

Alexander remained motionless. Slowly, he unbuttoned his suit jacket and sat back in his leather chair.

"Are you finished, Richard?" Alexander asked, his voice disturbingly calm.

He pulled a black leather folder from his briefcase and slid it across the table.

"Inside that folder are transaction logs from Vance Steel over the last eighteen months," Alexander explained, his voice echoing in the silent boardroom. "It details illegal offshore transfers and deliberate supply delays designed to force Sterling Logistics into default. You didn't want an alliance through marriage, Richard. You wanted a hostile takeover."

Richard’s face drained of color. He stared at the documents, his hands trembling violently.

"Recalculate your strategy, Vance," Alexander added coldly. "If you recall those bonds, I will submit these files to the Federal Prosecutor before the sun sets. Now, get out of my building."
